We recommend wearing your jewellery regularly to help minimise tarnish, and storing pieces you don’t wear often in a soft pouch or box to protect them from scratches and abrasion. Our designs are delicate, so please avoid harsh cleaners, rough handling or improper storage, as damage caused in these ways is not covered by Ichu. Each Ichu piece is made to be treasured - please handle your jewellery with care.
CLEANING SILVER:
Silver is suitable for everyday wear and can be cleaned with a sterling silver polishing cloth. For heavier tarnish, you may need to use a specialised silver polish or dip, following the product instructions carefully. Ichu recommends washing silver jewellery regularly by hand in warm water with a small amount of mild detergent, then rinsing thoroughly and drying completely before storing it in an Ichu jewellery pouch. Regular polishing with a silver polishing cloth will help maintain a bright, radiant finish.
CLEANING GOLD PLATED:
Gold‑plated sterling silver is best suited to occasional wear. Remove plated pieces before washing your hands, showering, swimming, or using any cleaning or abrasive products. To clean, gently wipe the surface with a soft cotton cloth to remove oils and light tarnish - avoid polishes or dips, as these can damage the plating.
CLEANING OPALS:
Opals are a delicate gemstone and should always be cleaned gently. Use lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap and wipe the stone with a soft, lint‑free cloth; if needed, you can very lightly use a soft cloth or soft toothbrush around the setting to remove any dirt. Avoid harsh chemicals, silver dips, abrasive cloths, and ultrasonic or steam cleaners, as these can damage the opal or its setting. Do not soak opal doublets or triplets - wipe them with a damp cloth only, then dry thoroughly
STORING SILVER:
Once silver has been cleaned and polished, it should be kept dry and protected. Ichu recommends wearing your silver regularly to help minimise tarnish. When you are not wearing a piece, store it in an Ichu box or pouch to shield the silver from abrasion and unnecessary exposure to air.
STORING OPALS:
Store opal jewellery separately in a soft pouch or box and avoid wearing it during activities where it may be knocked or exposed to strong heat or sudden temperature changes.
Ichu is based in Sydney, Australia and ships worldwide. Orders received before 3 pm AEST are usually dispatched the same day, except during sale periods and on public holidays, when dispatch may take up to 48 hours.
Within Australia, delivery typically takes 2–5 business days, and international orders usually arrive within 7–14 business days, depending on the destination and service chosen.
All orders are sent with tracking, and higher‑value shipments may require a signature on delivery. Estimated delivery times are set by the Australia Post couriers and Ichu is not responsible for any delays that occur after your order has been dispatched. Tracking numbers will be send via email once the order has been processed.
We want you to love your Ichu jewellery. If you change your mind or have any concerns with your order, please contact us within 7 days of receiving it so we can help. We happily accept change‑of‑mind returns within this 7‑day window as long as items are unworn and in their original packaging, including the opal authenticity card and gift box. For change‑of‑mind returns, customers are responsible for the original courier charge and the return shipping cost.
Our warranty also covers genuine manufacturing faults. If you believe your piece is faulty, email us with your order number and clear photos; once your claim is approved, we’ll share simple return instructions and, where applicable, cover return shipping for confirmed manufacturing faults.
